A plant the same genus as the potato. No one knows what Burbank had in mind for this species. It has big thorns, blue blossoms, large green, fuzzy leaves, and prolifically bears small, green poisonous fruit.
Rediscovered here in 1980, an unidentified Burbank hybrid; produces 6-foot stalks each year with thorny, large, grey-green, felt-like leaves. Bears star-like, purple-blue flowers and tiny poisonous fruit. Better cared for specimens in Daisy Garden shown here.
